The purpose of the Ninety-Nines is to promote women in aviation and support them in reaching their aviation goals. Our International membership numbers over 6,500 of women pilots: astronauts, military pilots, professional and corporate pilots, flight instructors, volunteer and recreational pilots.
The Phoenix Chapter 99s, chartered December 1, 1949, hopes to reach women pilots, both student and professional, in the State of Arizona to introduce them to The Ninety-Nines and our chapter. Flight has never been inexpensive and our chapter realizes that additional support, financial and emotional, is a welcome boost. To that end, we have established flight training scholarship funds to aid women interested in pursuing a private pilot or sport pilot certificate or additional ratings to that certificate. There is a possibility our chapter may offer scholarships in the spring and fall of each year. So it is a good idea to check this website frequently for changes in deadlines.
